Athena Reddy (they/them) is an actor and multi-disciplinary artist with an MA in Acting from The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Based in Los Angeles for just over two years, they’ve loved performing in the LA alt clown scene as characters like Prince Veridian, Loves Seafood, and John Newspaper, Inventor of the Newspaper—who will soon star in a full-length show, John Newspaper & Friends.
Athena has appeared in projects ranging from a sketch on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to Diplo’s Earthquake music video. They starred in the thriller We Do This Once, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. In the film Gutboy: A Bad Time Story (TROMA), they provided the singing and speaking voice for one of the film’s puppets and played a giant, performing WWE-style wrestling against another giant. It was there that they met their spouse, writer-director Nick Grant. Together, Athena and Nick created sketches like Peps! and My Roommate is the Pope of Cyberspace, which screened at Channel 101.
Athena wrote, directed, scored, and starred in Tiffany Toolbox, which won them the Best Lead Performer Channy Award at Channel 101. They were also nominated for Best Actress for playing the titular role in Bride of Frankenstein, an experiment in intimacy at the Venus-Adonis Theatre Festival in NYC.
Athena wrote, produced, and performed the body horror podcast Corpus Vile, along with other original audio works like The Mystery of the Tweed Club, Blood Soaked Iron Skeletons, Lazer B: Robot Hunter, and This Sticky Little Guy. They host Star Eater Astrology Podcast, a companion to their decades-long career as a consulting astrologer.
Originally from New York, Athena started as a model and singer-songwriter, touring in the nerd rock scene with the group Carpe Geekdom. As a model, they’ve walked runways in London and New York—once leaving a ring with a tiny crab in it backstage at The International Beauty Show. If found, please reach out.
Athena is a proud SAG-AFTRA member.
